About the Wellesley Hotel

Talking and Dining on the Porch
Talking and Dining on the Porch at the Wellesley Hotel

Reminiscent of an era gone by, the Wellesley Hotel and Restaurant resides in the center of Thousand Island Park, a private resort community on the St. Lawrence River.

Built in 1903, the Wellesley continues its tradition of fine food and charming, modest lodging with a newly restored look accenting simple comforts. With a view of the river, overnight guests may lounge on the upper porch above the central park with a bottle of wine or a book. The parlor downstairs offers comfortable seating and an enchanting bar for a game of chess, or a cocktail before dinner.

Gerry and Diane Brinkman owned the Rochester Club Restaurant in Rochester, NY for 11 years. It was among the leading local restaurants during the culinary revolution of the last decade. Since 2003 they have operated the hotel where Chef Gerry’s world class cuisine reflects an honest interpretation of the classics using local farm products and the freshest ingredients available. The Wellesley Hotel is now featured in the I Love NY Culinary Tour Across New York State. Dinner is served nightly in the dining room or on the lower porch overlooking the river. Service and atmosphere evoke pure pleasure at the Wellesley Hotel.

The Wellesley Hotel is the perfect place for families or those couples who simply want to leave behind traffic, cell phones, and the internet. It is an historical treasure of architecture and the perfect destination for a simple, easy respite from the 21st century.
